If you would also like to Fly a world class Flight Simulator, or see what a fully functional C6 Machine Gun Trainer operates like, or witness the state of the art Night Vision Goggle training Classroom, then you will need to sign up for the CAE Flight Simulator visit. 
The Visit will take place on 15 Feb 16 from 0900-1200 at 450 Tactical Helicopter Sqn. 
See the attached Permission Slip for further details. Permission slips need to be turned in no later than 10 Feb 16. For further details see Mr. Morrisey or Lt McGinley.

Weekly Announcements - Wednesday January 27th 

Drill Team practice resumes Monday night, wear your parade boots, bring your wedge and a filled water bottle. 

Marksmanship Practice on Thurs Same two teams come out Thursday night for the usual times.

Rocket Club meets this Thursday from 1900 – 2100 hrs. New members are always welcome

Wake-A-Thon is quickly approaching, hope everyone is working on those pledge forms. If attending , please see sign-up sheet at the back.

Operation Olaf permission forms are due 10 Feb 16

29-31 Jan 16 - Area Biathlon Competition – Team members are to meet at the armoury at 0845 Friday Morning. Good luck to our Biathlon Team!!

Sports Night next week will be snowshoeing. Please come dressed appropriately with a water bottle

Summer camp and staff applications are being handed out tonight and are due back NO LATER THAN FEB. 17th Both staff cadet and summer courses are due at this time.  All cadets interested please pick up an application package to fill out. Any senior cadet interested in a staff position please see 2 Lt Snelgrove after the parade.

Lord Strathcona Medal Anyone that wishes to apply for the Lord Strathcona Medal must submit a short narrative detailing why they should be chosen for the award to Lt. Alex McGinley by e-mail no later than Feb. 07 2016 at 2100 hrs. Please see the poster on Facebook or the Blog for email address

Weekly Announcements for Wednesday, January 20, 2016

1. Marksmanship Practice this Thursday and going forward until the competition is only for the ten cadets that have been identified by Lt(N) Forde for the two range teams. Practice is at the Armoury from 1800-2100hrs.

2.The next meeting for the Rocket/Model Club is Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 1900-2100hrs. Rocket Club is always open to new members. Come on out and have some fun.

3. Biathlon practice this week:
-Skiing on Saturday at Forest Lea from 1330-1500hrs
-Shooting on Sunday in Beachburg from 1230-1530

4.Drill Team practice on Monday, January 25, 2016 is cancelled because of exams.

5. Thank you to the cadets who have sold their lottery tickets. It is very much appreciated. Cadets who still have to sell their book can see Mrs. Hodder on Wednesday nights to sign out their book. The deadline for the tickets to be returned is Wednesday, February 24, 2016.

6. Interview preparation classes will be held each Wednesday for cadets who have applied for a National Summer Training Course. They will take place in the Ante Room from 1800-1830hrs. Mock interviews will be scheduled in the following weeks and the actual interviews take place in North Bay on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

7. Effective immediately the Squadron will be enforcing its uniform and EpiPen policies. Firstly, cadet are expected to show up in full uniform including appropriate hair styles. Cadets who have been issued a uniform and don’t show up in uniform will be sent home. Secondly, cadets who require access to an EpiPen must carry it on them at all times. Cadets requiring access to an EpiPen who attend cadet activities without it will be sent home.

8. The Squadron will be holding it's Wake-A-Thon fundraiser on 6-7 February 2016. Cadets can pick up their pledge forms at the office or download them from Facebook or the Blog. A minimum pledge of $60 is needed in order to participate. Start collecting your pledges now and join the fun.

9. Next Wednesday is our Monthly CO’s Parade.  Parent/guardian(s), family, and friends are invited to attend.  Everyone should be seated by 2030hrs.

10. The Squadron’s Winter FTX (AKA “Operation Olaf”) is scheduled for 26-28 February 2016.  Permission slips have been distributed and will be posted on Facebook and the Blog soon.

11. Thank you to Capt Frampton for organizing the Squadron’s Ski/Snowboarding Trip.  It was a great success!

12. Good Luck to all cadets who are currently taking exams at school.  Study!  Study!  Study!
