Wednesday January 28/15
1. Marksmanship takes place on Thursday nights at the Armoury. Timings are from 1800hrs to 2100hrs. The same six shooters who attended last week are the ones for this week.
2. The Army Cadet/Air Cadet Brass and Reed band meeting has been cancelled for this week. It will continue the following week.
3. Next week is sports night.
4. Outstanding lottery ticket books are due back A.S.A.P. If you still have not purchased yours please do so next week.
5.Drill team practices are being held at the Armoury on Monday nights from 1830 - 2030 hrs. Drill team is open to all cadets.
6. All cadets who have applied for a National Course or Exchange are expected to attend preparatory classes each Wednesday from 1800-1830hrs in the Ante Room at the Armoury in order to help prepare for the upcoming selection interviews. Classes will take place on January 28 and February 4. Mock interviews will take place on February 11, 2015 and the actual interviews will take place on February 14, 2015 in North Bay.
7. Candy grams for Valentines will be sold over the next couple of weeks for 50 cents each. The will be handed out Feb 11/15. Send one to a friend, anonymously, a secret admirer or just someone special. See Mrs. Hodder or Mrs. John to purchase.

Wednesday January 21/15
1. Marksmanship takes place on Thursday nights at the Armoury. Timings are from 1800hrs to 2100hrs. The same shooters who attended last week are the ones for this week.
2. Cadets interested in being part of the combined Army Cadet/Air Cadet Brass and Reed band are encouraged to come out to the Armoury Thursday evenings from 1800hrs to 2100hrs unless otherwise stated. No experience is necessary and instruments are provided if needed. If you have your own instrument you are asked to bring it with you.
3. The Squadron’s Biathlon Team will be waxing skiis this week on Thursday at 1830 hrs.
4. Thank you to all the cadets who have sold their book of lottery tickets so far! Even though many cadets have met their obligation there are still many more who haven’t. Please make sure you sign out your book of tickets as soon as possible. If you cannot afford the $50.00 deposit on the tickets please speak to Mrs. Hodder and she can waive the requirement to pre-pay.

The 1st Aid Course this weekend will be held at building L-106 which is the home to Safety Services. A map is attached showing L-106 on the map (circled in red and pointed out by a red arrow). Directions are as follows:
-from Petawawa Boulevard continue through the main gate (photo ID required, either drivers licence or military ID)
-Petawawa Boulevard turns into Menin Road
-continue on Menin Road until you come to the four-way stop at Menin Road and Montgomery Road
-contin...ue through the four-way stop and take the first right which will bring you on to the Nicklin Parade Square
-L-106 located just off of the parade square

1.    Marksmanship takes place on Thursday nights at the Armoury. Timings are from 1800hrs to 2100hrs. This week only the cadets that Lt(N) Forde spoke to may attend.

2.    Cadets interested in being part of the combined Army Cadet/Air Cadet Brass and Reed band are encouraged to come out to the Armoury Thursday evenings from 1800hrs to 2100hrs unless otherwise stated. No experience is necessary and instruments are provided if needed. If you have your own instrument you are asked to bring it with you.

3.    The Squadron is hosting a two-day first aid course this Saturday and Sunday (17-18 Jan 15) at building L-106 (Safety Services) at Garrison Petawawa.  The course will run 0900-1600hrs daily.  Dress for cadets is comfy appropriate attire.  Cadets are to bring their lunch, a filled water bottle, and paper and pens.  Directions will be posted under a separate post.  For information or to sign up for the course please email Mr. Wade Osmond at Osmond.wade@gmail.com.

4.    A ski practice for cadets selected for the Squadron’s Biathlon Team will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 and a shooting practice will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015.  More details to follow with timings, etc…

Medal applications for the Legion Medal of Excellence and the Lord Strathcona Medals are now being accepted. Application deadline is 21-January, no late applications will be accepted. Interested Cadets must see 2Lt Wendy McGinley for more information.


GPS & PPS exams are scheduled for Saturday January 10th at 1000hrs. Please ensure you get a good nights sleep on Friday and bring along your positive attitude to write on Saturday in the Pemco Steel classroom located at 555 Paul Martin Drive, Pembroke. GOOD LUCK to each and everyone of you!!!


Wednesday January 7/15
1. If there are any cadets who are interested in competing in the upcoming Effective Speaking Competition that will be taking place either February 21st or 28th in Kingston, please email Ms.Smith@smith.boland@sympatico.ca. There will also be a meeting at 1800 hrs at the Armoury on Wenesday Jan 14th.
2. Marksmanship takes place on Thursday nights at the Armoury. Timings run from 1800 - 2100 hrs. This week the following cadets are able to attend: Callie Wagner, Shae-Leigh Wagner, Victoria White, Olivia Croft, Georgia Keetch, Liam Sonoski, Liam Krueger, Shannon Rochat, Kurtis Kennedy, Cameron Kennedy, Rene Fleurant and James McCafferty.
3. This Saturday is the day for the Power & Glider Exams. Those who will be writing are to arrive at Pemco Steele at 0930 hrs to write at 1000 hrs.
4. There will be a Biathlon ski practice this Saturday, January 11, 1030-1200 hrs at the Forest Lea Ski Trails. It is open to all those who have participated in Biathlon practices and have skis, either issued or their own.
Bring filled water bottle and wear appropriate clothing. Dress in layers, you will get very warm once you start skiing.
5. There will be a Biathlon shooting practice held Sunday, January 12th, 1030-1400 hrs at the Beachburg & Ottawa River Sportsman's Club.
JUNIORS: 10:30 - 12:00 hrs (Juniors are new to the sport this year)
SENIORS: 1200 - 1400 hrs (Seniors have participated in previous years)
