The Reviewing Officer for the parade will be Mr. Bob Denault, President of Branch 72 of the Royal Canadian Legion.  A short service of Remembrance will be incorporated into the parade.

1. Air rifle marksmanship practice is every Thursday from 1800-2100hrs and is open to all cadets who wish to attend.  Dress is appropriate comfortable civilian attire.

2. Level Four cadets who are part of the rocketry club are to meet at the Armoury on Thursday evening from 1800-2100hrs.  More information about when cadets can join the rocketry club will be announced shortly.

3. Ground school for cadets wishing to apply for the Glider Pilot Scholarship (GPS) and the Power Pilot Scholarship (PPS) is every Wednesday night from 1800-1830hrs and every Friday from 1900-2100hrs unless otherwise stated.

4. Drill team practice takes place every Monday from 1830-2030hrs unless otherwise stated.

5. Annual validation forms and Squadron Handbooks were handed out to all cadets last week.  The annual validation forms and the "acknowledgement" page of the Squadron Handbook are due back to the Squadron office by Wednesday, October 30, 2013.

6. Regular training on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 has been cancelled and instead cadets will be invited to the Armoury for a Halloween Spooktacular. Timings are 1830-2100hrs (6:30-9:00pm).  Dress is either costume or PT gear.

7. Don't forget to get your lottery tickets.  Each cadet must sell at least one book of tickets.

Our Fall Bush Ex is scheduled for this Saturday, October 19, 2013 to Sunday, October 20, 2013.  Cadets are to be dropped off at the property Saturday morning at 0800hrs.  This exercise will proceed rain or shine (please pray for shine).  For more information please consult the permission slip which can be downloaded from HERE.

8. Reminder to all cadets FCpl and above that the updated duty schedule has been posted on the Squadron bulletin board.  Please check it to see when you are scheduled.

638 Squadron's fundraising efforts have raised $110.00 so far for the Petawawa Cenotaph Project! We are still accepting book for our upcoming book sale. Our goal is to present a cheque to the Petawawa Legion prior to Remembrance Day.

2. Ground school that was scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2013 is cancelled.  Ground school will resume on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 1800-1830hrs (6:00-6:30pm) and then again on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 1900-2100hrs (7:00-9:00pm).

3. Gliding that was scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2013 and Monday, October 14, 2013 is cancelled.

4. Drill team practice that was scheduled for Monday, October 14, 2013 is cancelled.  Drill team practice will resume on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 1830-2030hrs (6:30pm to 8:30pm) unless otherwise stated.

638's #1 Male Team (Bryn Osmond, Brennan Frampton, and Johnathan Frampton) won silver!
638's #1 Female Team (Julie Antler, Amber Luloff, and Leslie Wilkinson) won silver!
Johnathan Frampton won silver in the junior male category!
Julie Antler won gold in the intermediate female category!

3. All cadets are encouraged to come out on Mondays for drill team practice.  Drill team practices will be every Monday from 1830-2030hrs (6:30pm to 8:30pm) unless otherwise stated.

4. Reminder that ground school classes will be held every Wednesday evening 1800-1830hrs (6:00-6:30pm) and every Friday evening 1900-2100hrs (7:00-9:00pm) in the Ante Room at the Armoury.

5. Lt Frampton will be traveling to CFB Borden this weekend for the first weekend of her IOTC.  We wish her safe travels and all the best on her course.

6. Reminder that the dress for sports nights is the cadet issued PT gear (i.e. light grey, light blue or  dark blue t-shirt, grey shorts, and either the issued running shoes or their own personal running shoes).  Cadets may wear the red Squadron t-shirt instead of their issued PT t-shirt and may wear civilian jogging/workout pants.  Cadets needing PT gear or needing to exchange PT clothing are to see the Supply Officer (OCdt Alex McGinley).  Cadets not in proper PT gear during sports nights will not be able to participate and will be sent home.  Our next sports night is 4 Dec 13 so cadets have more than enough time to ensure they are properly outfitted in PT gear.
