UNIFORM PREPARATION CLINIC - 24 NOV 10

638 Squadron will be conducting a uniform preparation clinic on 24 Nov 10.  Cadets will learn how to iron their uniforms, how to wear their uniforms properly, and how to polish their boots.  Cadets are to wear appropriate civilian attire to cadets, but must bring their uniform with them.  Cadets are also asked to bring a polishing kit (i.e. shoe polish, polish rag, and old tooth brush).  Cadets should also ensure that all uniform parts are labelled with their surname and first initial.

The Kiwi website provides some polishing tips.  Click HERE to visit the Kiwi website.

CITY OF PEMBROKE "2010 SANTA CLAUS PARADE OF LIGHTS"

AIR CADET LEAGUE LOTTERY TICKETS

638 Algonquin Squadron has once again been tasked by the Ontario Provincial Committee (OPC) of the Air Cadet League of Canada to sell tickets in support of our provincial gliding program.  The proceeds of this ticket sale are used to fund the upkeep of our current fleet of gliders as well as allow the OPC to purchase new gliders as needed.

Our squadron has been assigned an allotment of tickets based on the number of cadets.  Again this year, each cadet and staff member will be required to sell one booklet of tickets to fulfill our commitment.  This amount must be paid by our Squadron regardless of ticket sales. Cadets who do not sell their book of tickets will be asked to provide an explanation in writing to the Commanding Officer and may not be permitted to participate in certain activities.

Unfortunately in the past, lost tickets and cadets not turning their ticket stubs and money back in have resulted in the squadron paying for those tickets and thus reducing the money available to support our activities. In order to avoid that loss a deposit for the value of the tickets will be required before they are issued. It will be the responsibility of the cadets and their parent/guardians to account for the tickets allotted.

This year, due to the recent growth of the squadron there are more cadets than we have books. We will be dividing the books into two booklets of ten tickets each. This will ensure that each cadet can be assigned least one book of tickets. Cadets are encouraged to sell as many booklets as possible to support the squadron; for each ticket booklet sold the cadet’s name will be entered into a draw for prizes.

Cadets and parent/guardian(s) must complete the Lottery Ticket Agreement.  An electronic version of the agreement can be viewed and printed by clicking on "Lottery Ticket Agreement" below.
